Built around resolution, not runaway billable hours.
Most law firms profit when your case takes longer. We built Amicus Lex on a different model, one where our success is measured by how efficiently and effectively we resolve your dispute. Out-of-court work is priced flat. In-court work is transparent and fair.
We resolve disputes before they reach the courtroom.
Litigation is expensive, slow, and unpredictable. In most cases, a well-crafted demand letter, skilled negotiation, or structured mediation achieves the same result, or better, in a fraction of the time and cost.
That’s why Amicus Lex focuses on pre-litigation strategy. This is especially critical in estate disputes, where delay hardens positions and evidence can disappear. We begin every engagement by assessing the facts, identifying leverage points, and building a resolution plan that keeps you out of court whenever possible.
Demand Letters
A clear, well-researched demand letter signals that you’re serious and prepared. It often resolves the dispute before formal proceedings are necessary.
Negotiation
We negotiate directly with the opposing party or their counsel, leveraging the facts and applicable law to reach a fair settlement on your behalf.
Resolution
When direct negotiation stalls, we pursue every available path to resolution: mediation, structured settlement, or strategic pressure to bring the matter to a close without court.
When litigation is truly necessary, we prepare your case thoroughly and connect you with experienced trial counsel who can take it the rest of the way.
Pricing that matches the work.
Traditional firms bill by the hour for everything. The longer your case takes, the more you pay, even when the work is predictable. We believe that creates the wrong incentive for pre-litigation and out-of-court work that should be resolved efficiently.
Out-of-court work is flat-fee. That includes case assessment, demand letters, negotiation, mediation, document drafting, settlement work, and every communication in between. You’ll receive a transparent flat-fee quote before we begin, and that’s what you pay.
In-court representation starts at $500+/hour and varies by case complexity. If your matter requires court appearances, hearings, or trial work, we bill that time at a clear, fair rate so you always know what you’re paying for. No surprise invoices, no inflated hours, no meter running when you call with a question.
